It happens a lot with me. I hear a song playing somewhere and take a liking to it. Later on at some point in time I remember and hummm this tune and download it from the internet so that I can listen to it at leisure.

But what happens if your favorite tune is on a tape record or available on one of the online radio websites. For sure I do not have a tape recorder with me and I may not be connected to the internet always (like when I am traveling). And add to this, this particular song is not available on any of the P2P softwares that I use. What to do?????

This happened very recently. I like this song from a hindi movie called Vijeta starring Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. It was released way back in 1996. I think it was flop but this particular song, “Shaire Main Hogaya Deewana”, I took a liking to it. Since a long time i have been hunting for this song on the websites and P2P softwares but it was just not avaiable. It was possible to hear it only thru online music websites.

But I wanted it on my laptop, so that I can listen to it whenever I want to. So how do I do this. I came across a cool software, called “Audacity”

Check it out here

This is the first of the series of blogs I plan to write about the features I like the most in Apple MacBook.

Apart from having some great software, an excellent Operating System, Apple has given the MacBook that something extra that makes you go Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!

MacBook Charger Plug

MacBook Charger Plug

The first thing I like most about the MacBook is its Charger. This is one of the most important components I my view. An Apple has done some nice word with its Charger.

The charger provided by Apple is Magnetic. Yup!!! the plug and the socket are magnetic. The advantage of such a design is that if you trip over the charger cable you wont be taking your laptop for a ride [;)]. In case you do trip over, the plug is gracefully unplugged from the laptop.

Believe me, this is very much helpful… I have tripped over the cable a couple of time but Thank God, nothing  happend to my MacBook.

The charger connected to my MacBook

Here is another snap with the charger connected to my MacBook.

Google recently unveiled its much awaited mobile phone, aptly name G1. The hardware for this phone is provided by HTC and the OS is of course Google own Android. Android is an Open Source

But even so much of hype around G1 does not seem to create many waves. If you look at G1 and look at the competition i.e. iPhone 3G, the latter wins hands down in looks department and the form factor.

Some reports say that the G1 is slightly bulkier, smaller, thicker than iPhone 3G. Also the colors that the phone is available in Black, white and brown are not so exciting.

I guess, in the music playback department it wont be able to compete with the iPhone. Because the iPhone has a far superior audio output. I seriously doubt HTC can match Apple in the music department.

Although I am not a great fan of iPhone either. I consider it an expensive toy at most. With a price tag of INR 30K +, its not a real value for money. But given a choice between G1 and iPhone, it would be iPhone all the way.
